YCN Newsletter 24 - CeramicAM Brazil from a participant's point of view - Enzo Todeschini

Report from Enzo Todeschini, an undergraduate student from São Paulo State University (UNESP). He won the "ABCeram Best Poster" Award sponsored by the Brazilian Ceramic Association.

6B My name is Enzo Todeschini, and I am a Brazilian undergraduate Mechanical Engineering Student at the São Paulo State University, College of Engineering at Bauru. During my undergraduate course, I developed research regarding scientific instrumentation for Direct Ink Writing as I worked on the design of a plunger-based extrusion system for shear-thinning materials. The project was developed and enhanced over four years. This research experience has given me a great amount of mechanical design knowledge, which has been fundamental in my current job at the Brazilian Synchrotron Light Source.

During this period, I had the opportunity to present my work several times, but among these presentations, the First CeramicAM event was a wonderful chance for me to expose the most mature results of my research. The event was accessible to undergraduate students like me and perfectly organized by the staff in all matters possible. It provided a fruitful environment for researchers with different levels of experience to communicate and interact and the chance to participate in practical workshops. The very welcoming environment made me feel comfortable enough to present my work in English for the very first time in an oral presentation. I also had the immense honor of receiving two prizes for the presentations I made during the poster session. I really enjoyed being part of this first edition of the CeramicAM event, which, from my perspective, was a total success.
