Young Ceramics Networks
YCN representative - Slovenia
Ivana Goričan
YCN representative for the Slovenian Ceramic Society
Jožef Stefan Institute
My name is Ivana Goričan and I am a young researcher working in the Electronic Ceramics Department at the Jožef Stefan Institute in Slovenia. I am currently a 2nd year PhD student at the Jožef Stefan International Postgraduate School in a Sensor technologies programme. I obtained my BSc and MSc in Chemistry at the Faculty of Chemistry and Chemical Technology at the University of Maribor. The BSc and MSc theses were in the fields of process systems engineering and coordination chemistry, respectively.
My current research activities are mainly dedicated to the processing and characterization of lead-based ceramic materials in bulk form and as thick films – for the latter, screen-printing and aerosol deposition techniques are used. My focus is on the preparation of multifunctional materials for energy storage and for multicaloric, i.e. electrocaloric and magnetocaloric, applications.
I am very honoured to be the YCN representative of Slovenia. I look forward to contributing to the growth of the ceramics network and expanding our collective knowledge in this dynamic field.
