Research topics :
Zakłady Magnezytowe "ROPCZYCE" S.A. has almost 50 years of an experience of investigations of basic refractories. The Research and Development Center for Ceramic Materials task is: designing new constructional and material solutions for refractory products and modification of existing solutions, supervision over the installation of materials in thermal devices and technological supervision over the production of refractory materials. The Center has adequate research facilities to conduct the necessary physicochemical tests of refractory materials and components of thermal processes. Numerical calculations use thermochemical software (FactSage), CFD and MES calculation software (Comsol, Ansys, Fluent) and symbolic calculations (CAS). An important instrument in the development of new material solutions that meet quality requirements and ensure trouble-free operation of the thermal device is the analysis of "Post Mortem" and the modeling of work. As part of the Research and Development Center, research activities are conducted focused on:
- Magnesia-carbon shaped, non-fired refractory materials
- Magnesia and mag-spinel refractory for cement and lime industry
- Shaped and fired refractory for non-ferrous industry: including magnesia-chrome, alumina chrome as well as silicon carbide refractories
- Alumina-carbon refractories for steel industry
- Special refractories - made as complete, ready-to-use large-size high-processed complex elements containing different qualities of refractory materials and steel structural elements in their compositionExceptional facilities
- Unshaped refractory: Gunning mixes, mortars, ramming mixes, repair and maintenance mixes
