Dynamics in Ceramics: Probing dynamic parameters such as short-range diffusion and long-range ion transport properties in nanocrystalline (nanoglassy), layered and amorphous materials for energy storage, development of solid electrolytes (oxides, sulfides and thiophosphates); study of nano-size effects and dynamic correlation effects; key methods: Time-domain NMR and broadband conductivity spectroscopy.

Functional oxides: Solid-state synthesis and characterization of relaxor materials and donor doped ferroelectrics (electromechanical properties, grain boundary effects, defect chemistry)
Functional thin films: Sol-gel processing of ceramic thin films for sensors or corrosion protection, compositional design, characterization of electrical properties (electrical resistance, activation energy, resistance drift).
