Research topics :
- Powder synthesis and sintering of functional ceramics: spinels for NTC thermistors, barium titanates for PTC-thermistors, thermoelectric oxides,
- Magnetic ceramics: hard and soft ferrites: hexagonal ferrites for permanent magnets and microwave applications, spinel ferrites for low-loss power ferrites,
- Ceramic materials for multilayer components and LTCC modules: ferrites for inductors, dielectrics for capacitors, lead-free piezoelectrics for actuators, oxides for thermoelectric generators
Exceptional facilities :
- Sintering in defined pO2 atmospheres
- Thermal analysis, dilatometry and XRD in defined pO2 atmospheres
- Electrical and thermal transport properties (electrical and thermal conductivity, Seebeck coefficient, thermoelectric performance, AC conductivity, permittivity, piezoelectric properties)
- Magnetic characterization (3K – 600K)
Financial support programmes :
- National funding: BMBF, DFG, companies,
